Re: Anyone running a Concentric on a 350?
Unless you've got a very early carb you probably ought to remove that pilot jet - sorry! Here's an extract from the Amal web site (when I made a note of it, it was part of the tech details) "Pilot Jets When first introduced all carburetters were fitted with a detachable pilot jet screwed into a...

Oooooooo - no I'm not going to paint my mudguards red after all I'm going to fit ally ones!
(And some of my mudguards are from Erik as well!)
Very nice, I do like that later styling with an alloy-head engine.

Re: Anyone running a Concentric on a 350?
I've recently discussed the spec for a concentric for the FH with someone at Burlen/Amal and got the advice that as a general rule the main jet for a concentric would be 20% smaller than the monobloc spec. That would seem to be born out by John's note above.

Re: '57 Huntmaster - Oil Tank
A couple of Steve's posts about fitting an oil filter to a Huntmaster (I've been tracking them for my own purposes...)

Re: '57 Huntmaster - Sludge Trap
It's very many years since I pulled a large-journal crank apart, however.... IF all the oil-ways and drillings in the tube are truly symmetrical (and that includes size - see below), and IF the crank is machined so that the tube (and plugs) will fit in the crank either way round without obscuring an...

Re: '57 Huntmaster - Ball Valve
That bolt always seems to protrude and I've never seen one leaking (so far anyway :) ) (My early crankcases have been modified to take the later crank, which involves getting that pipe slightly deeper, and I've just finished filing the end of the bolt back level with the outside of the cases as it w...

Re: '57 Huntmaster - Sludge Trap
As I remember one end of the tube is swaged out, the other fits over an extended nose on one of the sludge plugs (the 2 plugs are different). The plugs are readily available (the SRM online shop has an accurate illustration of a pair), you can get them with a hex not a slot, the hex might make them ...

Re: Nuts and Bolts
John - what year/capacity single??
(Chaincase/timing cover/oil pump screws are all various lengths of 1/4 BSW, barrel base nuts are 3/8 BSC. Rocker box/head bolts vary. I hope you're not after specs for all the cycle parts as well!)
