Re: What's the highest speed for a VH
Thanks for your replies. Yes, not really a good question as its difficult to really put over what I meant. If I think more of what I was trying to say, it was really more like: At what speed do you think the vibrations of the engine start to manifest themselves as becoming excessive making you feel ...

Latest Posts. Are they listed.
I was wondering how to see the LATEST posts, irrespective of category. As it is, I have to open each category and even then I'm not sure what is new or old apart from having to check the date on each post. I'm pretty sure this sites software provides the facility to show all post as they come in on ...

Re: What's the highest speed for a VH
Hi Dave, that's the info I was after. I was wondering at what speed the engine was letting you know it was working hard even though in reality it might produce more power if you held the throttle open and just waited to see what it topped out at. As said, it's not an easy answer, but some bikes can ...

Re: WANTED Swinging Arm ('56-on) for 4 stroke frame
Hi Johnny. I phoned John this afternoon. He was a nice chap but unfortunately he said he didn't have one. I'll wait and see what turns up but if nothing, I will do a restoration job on the one I have...Cheers matey...JohnnyBeckett wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 7:00 pm hi just ring the phone number i have put up and you will get him

What's the highest speed for a VH
Slightly difficult, perhaps, to answer this one but what would you say is a "natural-easy going" best top speed for a VH? I mean there is always a speed that a motorbike feels happy at, top speed-wise and a point that it seems to start getting harsher and vibrates to a point that seems you...

Re: Why did Ariel often feature a RACEHORSE?
Thanks Roger...The horse head does look weird though. Like, does the horse's mane represent a pedestrian crossing?..Is the A meant to look like a Dual carriageway? (it's not the Ariel "A") And the eyes, why square eyes, maybe a square four? ...Ha Ha. Such a strange ugly creation

Make sure you fit it on the left side or you'll end up with a twin TRAILING shoe!

Why did Ariel often feature a RACEHORSE?
I've read lots of books and text of the Ariel History but never uncovered why the advertisements for the bikes featured a racehorse. In fact the often shown stylised geometric head I find slightly sinister and scary looking. Screenshot 2022-07-19 130754.png 2359f7abd6fc7db673cdc6f50dc0512e.jpg Could...

Re: PRIMARY CHAINCASE CLUTCH SHAFT SEAL-4 stroke
I agree Johnny. After speaking about it earlier I took a peep inside the lower inspection hole and something about the spring link made me think my chain is a O-Ring type..it certainly feels heavier than the the normal 530 type chain, so less oil needed anyway if it is

Re: PRIMARY CHAINCASE CLUTCH SHAFT SEAL-4 stroke
Thanks Mick. Thanks for showing me. It's quite a contraption...can;t see myself rushing out to buy one. Thinking about it...maybe I still have one in place but not connected by tube?. ..I would have to search below the battery area? When I haven't anything else to do, I'll look, it will be some time ...
