Re: Starting Huntmaster when cold

On any AMAL monobloc or concentric carb, half choke with a small amount of throttle does NOTHING as regards richening the mixture. Reason: the choke slide is only seen by the incoming air when it drops below the throttle slide cutaway which is very small. If the slide does not impede incoming air no...

Re: Restoration Tip

That really is a beautiful motorcycle Paul. The green tank and wheels are quite unusual but looks magnificent. As said, the powder coating, if done properly is super tough, even so, one suggestion to help keep it in tip top condition, how about fitting a front rubber mud-flap? However, it's wearing ...

Re: Restoration Tip

Hi MG...Each to his own and I fully understand your dislikes. As regards touching it up, I find it is so tough it's very hard to chip if it has been done well, with primer. The alternative is 2K which probably looks superb but it does chip VERY easily and you WILL need to touch it up. Yes the fillin...

Re: What's the highest speed for a VH

Fortunately, just...

Re: VH '59 In Glamour Red

Thanks Simon. I would say though that whoever did the the original refurb or restoration did it in a way that wasn't that brilliant. I'm sorting out the basics at the moment and time permitting I would like to go over the whole bike again starting from scratch. Obviously having the bike in a pretty ...

Thanks Simon and Paul. Yes Paul, the direct links method of clicking on the list of choices is very good. Both "New" and "Active" Topics are what I was looking for. They make keeping up with daily entries very easy. I'll be using that from now on. Very much obliged... :)

Re: WANTED Swinging Arm ('56-on) for 4 stroke frame

Thanks Johnny. I have a "search" logged on Ebay for one. I'll await to see what comes up maybe over the next year.
