Is it essential to use clutch centre 3355-57 if a later clutch drum with friction inserts is fitted, or can the earlier type with the 'tags' on which the first plate abuts be used? That's very interesting, Roger. I wonder how difficult it would be to register a bike built using a frame modified to these specs with a Square Four engine in it.

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. It turns out that the bike in question has a twin downtube frame and the owner had Graham Horne build it for him.
