Ariel telefork oil seal holders

Can pre-1968 BSA fork seal holders be fitted in place of Ariel ones? For information, I have measured up front fork oilseal holders from a 1959 Ariel VH & an 1955 Ariel KH. I have owned both bikes for 40 plus years so I know that these seal holders the same ones originally fitted when the bikes ...

This is so very useful. Thanks everyone. Whilst on the subject of 1956 on rear sprockets for the 4 strokes, does anyone know why some were solid discs as, for example, in the case of Vincent's photos, whilst others had scalloped voids cut/cast in them. The scalloped type look better (in my opinion) ...

I live in Wakefield, West yorkshire (in old money, part of the old West Riding), Robin. There used to be a lot of engineering shops around here but nowadays it's nearly all retail parks, supermarket warehouses & museums.

Seized brake shoe adjusters alloy hubs

I'm setting about trying to release the adjusters on a pair of alloy brake plates that haven't been disturbed for 43 years & they feel well and truly seized. Everything else was easy enough to remove. Besides the usual soak in penetrating oil, apply heat wrench, sharp tap, etc. does anyone know ...

Thanks for that, Roy & Ian.
I've never been to Shropshire which has been on my list of "must go there some time" places anyway.
SA is a bit far, Roy, but I might get to Brisbane later in the year to visit the son who's working there at the moment.

Re: WANTED Rocker side plate (off-side) for 1937 Ariel 500 c

Many thanks for this, Ray! I had lost hope of a reply to this enquiry and so had given up retrurning to the site until today when I discovered your mail. What I still don't know is the vertical distance between the top 2, middle & bottom holes. Once again many thanks.

Taper roller bearings for headraces

Has anyone fitted these to late Ariel swingarm models? If so, what did you use and how did you fit them?
