The tank is painted as shown in the picture on the first page and I did my 48 A7 in chrome with painted centre which I think looks terrific but it was a lot of careful work lacing and trueing. Even so I ended up with a few bits of paint chipped away.

Re: Frank's 1940 VA
I am ready to order new rims and spokes for this project as I have located the correct hubs for front and back. What would be the best on this painted or shall I go for chrome/SS combination?

Re: Correct speedo
I discovered these Indian made speedos a few years ago then found out they need a specially made cable which I also got from Hitchcocks. Speedos were cheap but then all savings were lost on buying cables. Buying anything from India is a gamble and rarely works out right I rebuilt a Bullet with India...

Such a nice project but I am too far. I have my SB31 coming along so that is enough ambition for now.

Re: BAPDH Burman gearbox
I received the gearbox cover this week and the bonus of the great looking calendar! I will begin this week on working through the SB31 and SA 500 ‘40. New, to me, motorcycle lift in place this week and my RE Bullet done so much more space now.
Thank You Karol

Right, it is the gearbox for the corn head reaper is what he said but the description is good so far and I can always thin it out a bit more with some oil is it feels a little too tacky.

Re: Possible gearbox case crack or not ?
Hmmm, funny how this drifts into an oil discussion…… on this side of the pond someone from the hotrod club recently advised me to try John Deere Corn Box oil although rated as an ep0 he assured me it works very well. I might have to get a bit as the ep00 oil available where I am only comes in 20 lit...

Oooh, I would have liked to see that swap. I have promised myself I would do it one of these days.
Nice find, reaching out to others some of us on this side of the pond is going to be one source of missing parts.
Good Luck

Re: Winnipeg to Toronto and back...
True, in those days it would have been south to the Dakotas then a long trek around the Great Lakes. I too have been across by car, hitchhiking and twice on motorcycle. What adventures those were but those days are long past.

Re: Ariel rally Československo 2024
Such a kind offer, of course it would come back again. I will explore this further in the spring I would think as this is still a ways off. I am trying to convince my very best friend and riding companion to come over with me but so far he says only if we spend time in Italy so he can visit family a...
