Thanks Pete and Rob.
I had already seen the Draganfly catalogue and the shims but thought some one would have a figure like 5 to 8 thou. I wonder if the new gaskets are thicker??

NH Camshaft end-float

I have scanned through all the literature that I have but can find no reference to camshaft end float. I have re-assembled my NH cam and followers with the original shims and have now measured the end float. It is 17 thou. To me that looks excessive.
Can anyone give me an exact figure?

Brake Linings

Just had my NH Brake Linings replaced by Villiers Services, Brierly Hill. These are bonded and a non-asbestos fabric weave that will not damage your drums. They turned around 8 days from posting to receiving them back. They were also the cheapest quote. (Cost £17.50 including postage, packing and VA...

John, Thanks for your work on this. the bike didn't have a wheel when I bought it, so I was not able to photograph, take measurements and notes of the front wheel. I am going to wait a while. Perhaps there will be an NH at the AGM that i can scrutinise? There's no rush, as this project is no where n...

Thanks for your reply Pete. I have now found a sectional drawing of the front wheel from a 1952 handbook. This seems to confirm that there is no offset on the wheel and that the rim is centralised on the hub. Cheers! Ed

1954 NH front wheel (1/2 width hub)

Does any one know whether the front wheel has an offset, when it is built? I surmise that it does owing to the fact that it touches the inner fork on the brake side but that there is a gap(10 mm ?) on the near side. My rebuild is getting to the stage where I need this information. Any knowledgeble g...

NH 350 Front Wheel Spindle

Hi,I am rebuilding a very sad NH 1954. Please can anyone give me the overall length measurement of the half-width front wheel spindle? Mine appears to be too short at 8 1/2"
Thanks
