Thanks all for the advice. Ended up ditching the remote master cylinder in favour of an on handlebar standard set up, and had to re hone the slave cylinders and give them a good clean - seems to have worked fingers crossed!

Mike, Peter James will insure your huntmaster on its frame or engine number if you haven't got it registered, and they do let you bolt on modern bikes. Last year i was paying £160 per year for my VH (still not finished) and a zx6r ninja. It is a very cost effective way of insuring modern bikes

I use a full face AGV helmet with a flip down sun visor inside the main, which is very useful for those of us who do not wear glasses and don't have reactalites. If i did more continental stuff i'd probably go for a flip front type (to stop having to take it off through customs)

I would be very interested to see the accident statistics, the amount of young kids being irresponsible on 50cc scooters or 125cc bikes with L plates on in my area is massive. Several have nearly ended up as ornaments on my bonnet and I make sure I pay attention to bikers being one myself!
