Hi Louise,

I would say putting it on ebay with no reserve and a low start price, or listing it in your local paper are the best options for you.

Jay, The head you are referring to on eBay has been relisted weekly for about six months, the seller is also asking silly money for a fully enclosed rear chaincase - I think he is a bit of a dreamer, but unfortunately, if he leaves it on long enough, someone desperate enough will pay it and drive al...

I have been watching that VHA on ebay, its over £700 now, considering it probably needs new bits that make it an 'A' that seems pretty pricey to me! I'm a young member at 29, but I have bags of enthusiasm and passion - but can't afford to buy anything! I think i'll have to do a serious bit of saving...

Re: Lew Wallwork Brake

I have a lew sapwood brake also, and when I was rebuilding my bike I was attempting a similar set up using a remote master cylinder cable operated so the handlebars look original. However after hours of bad language I ditched the idea and now just have a nice looking chrome master cylinder and reser...

Re: location of voltage regulator of swinging arm VH

Mine is also electronic. I have seen electronic versions available (although mine is not one of them) that seems to have fins and a heat sink on them too, so presumably they benefit from some airflow so being outside the toolbox must be ideal for that reason too. I remember my Dad used to run an iro...

Re: location of voltage regulator of swinging arm VH

There should be two 1/4 holes in the back of the tool box and it is attached there. Mine is mounted on the outside of the toolbox as it is full of tools!

I can post a pic if required.

I have a policy with Peter James, about £75 per year, agreed value, cover on other bikes, european riding and breakdown cover.

Saying that, my renewal is May, so remains to be seen what they come up with then!

Re: Brake plate failure

I have a hydraulic front brake, made by Lew Walwork. As far as I am aware, there has not been any issue with these, I had to renew the slave cylinders over winter and taking the brake apart it is a fantastic piece of kit! As I only did about 500 miles last year I cannot speak for the longevity from ...
