1954 Petrol tank?

Today I aquired this fluted petrol tank. Who knows on which models it was in use? The tank bolts underneath does fit to a rgid frame, not to prf frame. As far as I can see nothing has been altered etc. Because it’s fited with the plastic badges I assume it’s 1954 onwards. Could this be a late rigid ...

Re: New Ariel Poster

Thank you Johnny and Julian.
Untill now I've sold aprox. 5 posters overhere to Dutch club members.
I did print just a small batch of 20 posters on my proofing press at my own expense.

New Ariel Poster

Just finished printing of my latest Ariel poster in three colours… It’s based upon a 1945 cover of Motor Cycling.
Size aprox. 13.5 x 18.11 inches, or 35 x 46 cm.

Re: Ariels for sale in the Netherlands

The 1954 rigid frame KH, once belonged to me, I did sell it a couple years ago. The engine is complete overhauled. I think it’s a nice machine, but I rather stick to single engined Ariels…

Re: VB headgasket thickness ?

This is my former Ariel, A 557cc 1933 VA-3. It was fitted with a 600 VB barrel, so the piston stopped 3.5 mm (!!) before TDC due to the different stroke of a 557cc sidevalve. (95mm in stead of 102mm) The bike drove like a dream, and reached 90-100kmh with no problem at all... :D

Re: Upcoming auction in Goole - two 1930s Ariel singles

As you said Paul tapered tubes on Ariel girders where from 1934 > onwards. The 250 looks like a bike which can be a nice one, if you spend enough…

Re: Info

Paul - Yes! It is a 1954 PRF frame, it is missing from the despatch books. There were 5,420 of these frames made and 1.8% are duplicated with about 4% of the numbers missing. I assume it exists, which would not be unusual for missing frames, do you have an engine number with it or in a previous lif...

Re: Info

The bike became road legal and got a license plate on the 13th of april 1954. All the other components like magneto, dynamo are stamped 1954. The same for the gearbox.
