Hi , I am just about to start restoring a 1936 VG500, has any one used the girder spindles from Acme stainless and and overall how were, ie fitting , threads etc. cheers Steve

Thanks for your help , I have checked the indent and spring which is fine , now checking the selecters, and gear train. hope fully I will have it sorted this week.

I have just finished restoring my1952VH500 , I have rebuilt the gearbox with all gears present , My test run last week ended up with no 2nd or 3rd gear, I warm the bike up selected 1st then preceeded to select 2nd and it went to 4th , to come back up nothing happened, stopped managed to get 1st and ...

Thanks for your question , the VH had no push rods , I purchased a set of steel ones from Draganfly , they were alot heavier and the ends are not hardened, I have a couple of sets of original alloy ones so I decided these should be fine.

VH Tappet seetings
Hello , I am assembling my 1952 cast iron VH500 using alloy pushrods ,what should I set the tappets to , the cast iron clearences or due to alloy expanding the alloy clearences ? Much appreciated for your help.

Thanks to the both of you , I have just removed the head and you are correct the valve is far two recessed , the inlet is also in a bit too much, not as much as the exaust, so I will send the head away this week for repair Much appreciated Steve

Hello , I have just recently taken my 46 VH500 out after being parked all winter with the fuel tanked dry , guess the outcome the tap leaks , I have seen on Draganflys site they can supply a neoprene seal , has anyone used these and do they work, I appreciated your views .Steve
