Hi Jorgen
They are from a 1932 Sloper either SB or SG. The extra lump on the side is for the decompressor push rod to push on. I believe the decompressor was only ever fitted to those models for one year. A shame they are worn out.

Re: Wanted: Girder Fork Front Stand
Hi Paul The Slovak Ariel club make them. Bought one last year. Good web site with lots of parts available. Only problem with it, was where it is flattened for the mounting bolts, there should be piece of plate inserted in the tube to make it thicker before final crimping. I opened it out and silver ...

Re: The perils of linered cylinder barrels or how to loose your head
CIMG2808.JPG CIMG2807.JPG Hi John I was not suggesting using that piston in a long stroke 500. 81.8mm bore +0.060 works out at 83.324mm . Therefore a suitable piston for 83.5 or 84mm bore would give you 2 more re-bores, without recourse to a liner. Yes you are right barrels must be machined relativ...

Re: The perils of linered cylinder barrels or how to loose your head
Hi . There is an alternative to fitting a liner to recover a barrel with a worn out +60 bore. Fit a larger diameter piston. I believe the +60 piston max oversize became a sort of industry standard as the weight increase due to thicker skirt was just about acceptable. Oversize pistons being heavier a...

Re: The perils of linered cylinder barrels or how to loose your head
The barrel had been bored out to the diameter of the spigot below the flange. Presumably because the spigot was damaged. The failure started on the drive side of the barrel ( the thinnest part ) . The flange broke up and being still bolted on the timing side tilted to the right causing the liner spi...

Re: 1930 Arile rear guard
Hi Rod As far as I know the guard is a 6inch nominal width D section guard. Usually 5.75 to 5.875 actual. That is what is on my 30G . Stays are a vertical single stay and a V stay including handle, mounted on the removable section. The stays are a C section pressings with un-pressed ends. There is a...

Re: Nice Cammy 4 on eBay
The description as "unrestored" is very close to the edge of the trades description act. I don't think the Magneto is still functioning as it appears to have battery powered ignition. A good example but far from the oldest unrestored Cammy. Paul M
