When rebuilding my 1930/29 machine I concluded the front should be 5" and the rear 6".

Mine also did the same. I made up a gasket, which does not total solve the problem, but brought it to a manageable level.

1930 engine shock absorber arrangement
Can members please advise if the engine shock absorber on 1930/31 500cc engines has the spring inboard or outboard for the sprocket? If you have a diagram or picture of the arrangement that would also be most helpful. many thanks Ian
