Ariel Colt Rear Brake Pedal Wanted

Does anyone have a spare rear brake pedal part number 12692-54 for a 1954-58 Colt? Happy to buy or swap if I have anything you need.

As always, I'm also looking for bits for a 1939-40 Ariel OG250, particularly an HP gearbox, primary chaincases, battery carrier and petrol tank.

Re: Find bike registration details from a frame number

I was lucky and managed to do this some years ago with my 1939 Square Four. I first got a dating certificate from the club which showed me the bike was despatched to Bryants of Biggleswade and the date. I then went to the archives in Bedford where the extremely helpful staff produced the registratio...

So sorry to hear this Paul, I hope both you and the bike have a speedy recovery.

Re: Primary Chain

Thanks all, I'll check the chainwheel again but unfortunately the bike came in boxes of bits and no primary chain. Having had another look at it, it seems to be binding on the rollers and riding up the teeth as if the rollers are a tad too large diameter.

Primary Chain

My OG 250 parts book says the primary chain should be 1/2 x 0.305 which I believe equates to a 428 chain. However, when I went to fit a 428 chain to the chainwheel it began to pick up after a few links and was slightly riding up the sprocket teeth when just over half way round. on the front sprocket...

Re: Guy's 250 parts

Not mine Adrie, unfortunately too early for me (and also far too expensive!).

While I'm writing I'll renew my appeal for a set of chaincases, a fuel tank and Burman HP gearbox for a 1939 OG 250. If anyone has any for sale/swap I'll be happy to hear from you!

Hi Adrie, I've also just sent you a PM - I'm looking for a rear plate for my latest OG250 project.

Re: Girder link thread

Just to wrap up the story, prior to ordering the new tap I took Will's advice and dropped Acme an email asking about the thread. Clay replied saying the chrome may damage a new tap and very kindly sent me a good used tap free of charge. This worked a treat and I've now used this to clean the threads...
