Yes it is the VA from DR Motorcycles I am very pleased with it.

1935 Ariel VA
I've been checking over my new acquisition, changed the oil and checked filters in tank and sump both very clean. Removed the sludge trap and again all very clean. The sludge trap threads showed signs of threadlock, should I use it? I am happy I got it good and tight.

Re: KH500 Lean Running Problems
Thanks fore your replies. I too had the polish filled fuel cap breather hole problem on my first ride after the rebuild it caused the bike to slow and stop and then refilled the float chamber in time for restarting and then repeated itself. Another problem I had when running in was the magneto drive...

Re: KH500 Lean Running Problems
Thanks for you replies. I guess those holes were for some manufacturing reason and I am now sure they are not the cause of lean running. I taken the head off and vacuum tested the inlet tracts and proved no leaks here. I am to fit a new club Otto type head gasket which will hopefully prevent the oil...

KH500 Lean Running Problems
Has anyone any idea what the two holes (marked) at each side of the KH head are for? They go from the mating face through a couple of fins and stop. There are no corresponding holes in the block and are in addition to the stud and pushrod holes. I'm looking for an air leak. Thinking of plugging thes...

KH 500 Bottom Yoke
My 1951 KH500 has a bent bottom yoke from a collision. Drags don't have any used yokes H59-49U which is the one listed for my bike but they do have used H59-55U in stock. Can anyone advise if this will fit or what mods are required to make it fit?

KH500 Carburettor Tuning
I've been trying to get my newly restored 1951 KH500 to run properly on the new, correct spec Amal 276 I fitted. With all the book settings it was rich at low throttle openings, sooting the plugs up but lean at mid throttle causing overheating and nipping up. Cured the low throttle probs by fitting ...

Re: Another Ariel Saved
Handlebars, clutch dome, plunger bolts, kickstart lever, gear lever, clutch arm, headlight rim, fuel cap, oil cap, seat springs, £600 so yes it was but at least you know they will fit. I think it would have been cheaper to buy new but I have had problems with some re manufactured components on other...

Another Ariel Saved
Just finished the restoration of a 1951 KH500. Its not been on the road since 1965. 200 miles now done running in and a bit of de-bugging but it rides and feels great. Confident with it now to start going a bit further from home. A big thanks to all the spares organisers for the work they do and the...
