Hello Roger It’s an automatic advance magneto but the self extractor didn’t work, I had to drill and tap the centre bolt to get the ATD off. Yes I noticed a later number plate assembly and light has been fitted, I think repro originals are available which will be used in the rebuild. The colour does...

Thanks Paul will do. I had to drill & tap the ATD centre bolt and screw in a bolt and make an extractor to get it off. The left hand thread extractor didn't work and needs refurb like the rest of the magneto .

1951 KH 500 Refurbishment

I'm new to 4 stroke Ariels just oined the club having recently acquired a 1951 KH 500 that was last used in 1965. I bought it off the lady who's father got it from Pride & Clarke London in 1958 with a sidecar attached. I have the original invoice, he paid £119 10s for it and traded in a BSA comb...
