Re: Petrol Cap

My cap was very tight even without o-rings so I wrapped some emery cloth around it and swizzled it around in my hand until it fitted very loosely. I then put on new o-rings and all is well. I believe that the plastic swells over time.

Don't worry about the orientation, when you click the pictures they turn the right way round.

Re: Arrow warm-up

I always shut the fuel off when about 300 yards from home so the float bowl is more or less empty when I stop. As it is easy to raise the needle I will try it as I can always put it back if it doesn't help. It's a shame that the choke is either on or off as it would have been nice to be able to feed...

Re: battery

I have used sealed AGM batteries with modern electronic reg/rec for at least 5 years on several bikes with no issues. They hold their charge very well when not in use, such as through the winter, and then spring back to life when required. It also avoids Sulphuric Acid fumes attacking the metalwork,...

Re: battery

Yes, I have put this AGM battery into my Arrow. However, I strongly recommend that you get a combined regulator/rectifier to prevent over-charging. https://motorcyclepartswarehouse.co.uk/atom-advanced-6n11a-1b-gel-motorcycle-battery.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw6fyXBhBgEiwAhhiZssZXy0hDBTN_AbIlVC0cgnEuHsekwUKJ...

Arrow warm-up

My Arrow starts first kick whether hot or cold so that is pleasing. However, when starting from cold, it seems to take several minutes of "warming-up" before it is happy to drive off without choke. It tries to die when I open the throttle but recovers quickly when going back to idle. When ...

Re: Arrow ignition switch

Pretty certain is clockwise for ign and widershins for emg. To be sure check the owner's guide, which will also tell you how to change gear silently, actually I think that had gone by the time the 2 strokes arrived. I would be interested in knowing how to change gear silently. Mine needs a firm pul...

Re: WHICH RECTIFIER FOR LEADER

I recommend using a combined regulator/rectifier for all the reasons above, plus you can fit an AGM battery without fear of damage and LED lights which are happier with a regulated supply. I use an Elektrex one which can be 6V or 12V, depending on whether you snip a certain cable or not. It easily f...

Re: Heavy throttle

Mine does have a separate throttle and brake lever and the cable does take a sharp bend, I will try and rotate it to see if it improves. The cable is free but the twist grip action is heavy. I cannot think why a stronger spring would be in the carb. I am considering fitting a Venhill cable, if I cou...

Heavy throttle

My Arrow has a heavy throttle action, compared with the Tiger Cub I used to have. It returns readily enough but it takes a fair amount of grip to throttle up. Is this normal? As far As I can tell it has a standard Amal monobloc carb, although I need to look closer. My Tiger Cub had a Mikuni carb and...
