I have an Ariel Arrow Sports crank case and thinking of bringing it back to life. I have a lot of Arrow parts to build a bike. Does anyone know how I can check when this number was first registered and if it’s being used on another bike? Engine number is T 34120 G

Re: Still wont Start!
Following a final attempt I have given up with the Amal carb. It kept flooding even with a new viton needle valve and seat. The float was a newer plastic one. Just fitted a new Mikuni carb and started with no adjustments! I think after 60 years a new one was needed. Now need to complete the build an...

Re: Still wont Start!
Latest update I have a spare engine and rebuilt it in the bench and it also has +20 pistons with piston rings within spec. I am using a new Sealy compression tester which gave a reading of 120psi when I tried it on my Moto Guzzi V50. The engine on the bench also gave low compression readings (no car...

Re: Still wont Start!
Having renewed the crank bearings and fitted new viton oil seals, new piston rings (stepped ones from drags for +20 standard pistons) the bike still won’t start. The max. Pressure is only 60psi. I am struggling to find the problem of the low pressure the cylinder bores are not showing any sign of we...

Re: Stepped piston rings
The stepped rings are all that Drags supply for the original ariel pistons filing down the peg still retains the ring in its correct position all I am not sure about is what gap should I leave.
