Thanks again Mick. Your method of replacing the felt wick sounds very good. I do have an old rubber sleeve from a Dremel sanding drum.
Regards,
Paul

Re: Major oil leak from rear enclosed chain case
Thank you Simon, Mick and Dave, Simon had asked about the size of the leak. I normally get about a 1 to 2" puddle after a 45 minutes ride. My Draganfly parts catalogue and manuals do not show a picture or give a parts # for this 'felt wick' . I believe it's just under the oil tank tap and provi...

Major oil leak from rear enclosed chain case
Hello everyone, I'm relatively new to the forum. I have a '56 Huntmaster and have been trying to eliminate excessive oil draining from the rear enclosed chain case. I would be happy just to oil the rear chain with a can of spray lube. I have tried blocking the oil line that leads from the bottom of ...

Re: Putting Huntmaster on centerstand question
Thanks for this Simon. It's become apparent to me that the feet on my center-stand will need some repairing .. to make them function properly ; without a lot of strain.simon.holyfield wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:01 pm The standard feet are pretty thin - there's a lot of weld in mine.

Re: Putting Huntmaster on centerstand question
Hi I hve to agree with most of what's been said above, I find my FH to be the easiest of my classic twins to put onto the centre stand. I use much the same technique as others though I've recently changed from my left hand on the handlebar to under the front of the dual seat, (I find it easier). It...

Re: Putting Huntmaster on centerstand question
Paul, The feet on centre stands are easily damaged and some repairs are not as good as original. image_8.JPG This shows the foot on a good stand just as it touches the ground image_9.JPG This shows the stand supporting the bike The best way to get the bike off the stand is to do it from the side as...

Re: Putting Huntmaster on centerstand question
Welcome to the forum. I had to think how I do it but I've always considered the swinging arm Ariels to be one of the easier British bikes to put on the centre stand. I stand at the drive side of the bike and take the left handlebar with my left hand and grip the frame of the bike at the back under ...

Re: Putting Huntmaster on centerstand question
Paul Maybe see Jim Haydock's posts towards the end of this thread (started by Johnny I think!) - he's made a couple of easy mods : http://forum.arielownersmcc.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=11437&start=10 SG These mods look good. Thanks Simon. The extension on the foot looks like it would be very...

Re: Putting Huntmaster on centerstand question
If you pull on the handlebars don't be tempted to lift as well - there is no need as the front wheel will roll back and should stay on the ground when the bike is on the stand. All the left hand needs to do is steady the bars and stop them from trying to turn which they will do. Thanks Will. More g...
