Re: Ariel Factory Despatch records

Hi Paul, many thanks for your kind offer. I've exchanged emails with Roger who has provided a lot of clarification. I'm happy for you to be included if Roger is, to see if you can shed any further light?
By all means contact Roger direct to that end if you wish?
Dave.

Ariel Factory Despatch records

Hi, is it common knowledge (that I'm not aware of!) as to who holds or is custodian of the Ariel factory despatch records? Reason for asking is that I'd like to carry out some research relating to my bike and those produced alongside it which requires some trawling through the relevant despatch reco...

Re: regulator cover

Many thanks to all of you who have responded, excellent info.
I'll try Allan Simpson first (I had assumed he didn't have any as not on his list), if not I'll place an order with Drags with last resort of making one based on info provided above if I still need one by May...

regulator cover

Am in need of a voltage control unit cover for my 1940 W/NG, part number 6170-37. If anyone has one they would part with I'd be delighted to hear from them, but more realistically if anyone can supply details/dimensions so I can make one I'd be just as delighted to hear from you please! Thanks in ho...

Re: Balance factor

Many thanks for that info, 65-66% would at least seem to be a good starting point on the understanding that lots of other factors come into play.

Balance factor

Greetings knowledgeable ones; can anyone tell me what balance factor was originally used by Ariel on the 500cc Red Hunter crankshaft?
Alternatively, any thoughts re what balance factor would be best for this engine to be used for sprinting?
Thanks, Dave.

Re: Anyone attending Normandy next year from the club?

I'm going next year with a gang of others on a variety of WW2bikes. Accommodation anywhere near the beaches will be a problem. We booked ours about two months ago and struggled to find any campsites still with spaces at that time. It looks like it is going to be a big "Do", so first find s...

Re: Rear wheel spindle related parts

Nice sentiment Will, the first part I fully concur with - don't want it in bits any longer than necessary; the second part, theoretically possible...

Re: Rear wheel spindle related parts

Hi Simon and Will, many thanks for your input, at least it's a bit of a comfort that I'm not the only one to have come up against problems in this area. The explanation is entirely plausible re what may have previously been done re the spindle and bearings I have. in view of correct parts not being ...
