Re: Rear Wheel axle position adjustment
Hi All Thanks for all the help so far, having removed the adjuster and measured it, the outside diameter across the thread is .297 inch (5/16 equates to 0.3125) and the head of the adjuster and locknut fits a 3/16 Whitworth spanner! The TPI is 26, so I assume it is a cycle thread. Have I got this co...

Re: Rear Wheel axle position adjustment
Thanks for everyone's replies, a bit of dismantling and further investigation is needed I think, nobody likes the idea of welding so I will cross that off the list. Thanks for the thread information. I will let everyone know how it goes - my suspicions were aroused when I realised the back wheel poi...

Rear Wheel axle position adjustment
Good morning I have a 1934 NH frame and the thread on one of the rear wheel position adjusters is stripped. I haven't stripped this yet and so not measured the thread, does anyone know offhand what the thread and diameter is and has anyone tried to use a Heli coil in this part of the bike? If not, a...

Thanks for those replies - I am just refurbing my mudguards on a 1934 NH and wondered why there was a hole there!

Replica Speedometers
Hi All, I have a 1934 framed, 1937 engined with a G49E49 Burman gearbox. This is clearly a 'parts' special and I am looking for a speedo to fit without having to pay a kings ransom! Feked do an 80mm diameter smiths replica, I assume I need a burman spade drive to mate with the gearbox. Has anyone an...

Re: VH bronze head valve lifter
Thanks for the pictures, starts to make sense now. This is the best pic I have at the moment of the oil line as, the bike isn't with me at present. The oil line from crank case to head is just visible to the left of the magneto adv/retard cable. It doesn't seem to put a lot of oil mist anywhere and ...

Re: VH bronze head valve lifter
Thanks for the photos, I will have to take some closer pics of the top of my head, it seems to have the holes but not right through. There is an oil feed from top of the crank case to the rocker box but it is a single union and doesn't push much oil mist out, I've left the tappet covers off so I can...

Thanks very much, this is my first Ariel so a steep learning curve!
