1957 Huntmaster tank knee pads

Wanting to replace my 57 Huntmaster tank knee pads but can't seem to discover how they are held on to the tank. I have prized the edges away but can't seem to discover any fixtures or fittings that hold them on to the tank. The Draganfly website shows a metal surround and the front of the rubber pad...

Paint detail on a 57 Huntmaster

I have a 57 Huntmaster with a plain maroon petrol tank apart from the chrome central cover, knee pads and Ariel logo. Could anyone please advise me if the correct detail is a gold line on both sides of the tank? I have tried to upload a picture of my tank and one I have lifted from the internet with...

Re: 1957 Huntmaster wiring

Thanks for all of your helpful replies. As the headlight bulb is an LED, with that on plus brake light, the current drawn is only about half an amp which deflects to the left, negative side of the scale. That tells me the ammeter is wired correctly but the rising negative amperage as road speed incr...

Re: 1957 Huntmaster wiring

Hi Simes, the regulator seems to have been wired into the original loom in exactly the same place in circuit as the original make and break regulator. Yellow and Green from/to the dynamo, outlet from the regulator to the purple line in the loom feeding ammeter and battery, where the original regulat...

1957 Huntmaster wiring

I wonder if a knowledgeable person could help please. I have a Boyer Brandsen 6V pos earth dynamo regulator fitted to my 1957 Ariel Huntmaster. The Dynamo is a Lucas 6 V E3L. The dynamo appears to be working correctly with a rising voltage on the d terminal - rising to about 7.5 V at fast tickover o...

Re: 1957 Huntmaster

Thanks for all of your help. Will find the fibre plug and restrict it somehow. I don't think it is gearbox oils as it is a nice shade of black! Steve

1957 Huntmaster

I have recently bought a 1957 Ariel Huntmaster with enclosed rear chain. The bike goes very well but the lub oil supply to the chain seems excessive as a large pool builds up under the chain guard after a run. Could someone tell me how reduce the oil supply to the chain please? The handbook states t...
