No, sorry, I already sold the ribbed con rod to the same fellow who's interested in the flywheel shafts.
I still have the non-ribbed con rod though.

Hi John,
Thanks for the input. Unfortunately I don't have the big-end pins, just the plates and the drive and timingside shafts.
I had thought those shafts might have been made of "unobtainium", guess not.
Tom.

VH parts

I have some VH (500) parts for sale. A couple of crankshaft sets without the big end pin, some dynamo parts, a footpeg, etc. I live in Arizona USA so shipping on the heavier parts may be prohibitive. Here's a question, a fellow wants to buy the timing side crankpin and also the drive side crankpin. ...

Yeah, I just checked the international shipping charges and they sure are pricey! Are all of this group's members overseas from the U.S.? Or maybe someone overseas has a U.S. address and a cheaper way to transport from that point? Anyway, do these flywheels ever go bad, or what would cause a person ...

I roused some folks over at the garage sale garage today, and we actually found two crankshafts. However I was unable to find a crankpin for either. After a bit of hemming and hawing, I was able to buy both. One says "Qualcast" followed by the digit "2" and also numbered "A7...

I just remember seeing a chrome spring at that garage sale. It was in real nice shape, and an unusual shape at that. It was fat in the middle and thinner at each end. At the time I was going to grab it, but the guy in charge of the sale said he was going to keep it. I asked him "for what"?...

Just a correction, the Enfield was a 65, and I had it circa 66-70. This early-onset sucks. John, what a beautiful Enfield you have, and you're smart to keep it in a vacuum. What a ride that will be in 30 years! I talked to the folks with the crank today, and will probably be able to get it in a coup...

Thanks for the input. One rod looks like the one in the picture, with what I call a flange around the big end, the other doesn't have that feature. I sent a pic to John Nash, so hopefully he can get them posted here. The rods measure approx. .90" dia. at the small end, 1.92" at the big end...

Re: Crankshaft and rods

Thanks for the replies. 7 1/2" center to center on the rods is as close as I can measure it. The crank was in 2 pieces, each with a counterweight plate. I think it did say "qualcast" on it but I'm going to go back and check . I sure hope I can rescue these parts, which no doubt would ...

Re: Crankshaft and rods

By the way, the rods I got are approx 7.5" long center to center. The big end is a solid circle, with no removable cap. One of these rods is flanged at the big end, one unflanged. I'll try to post a picture. Does this sound like anything Ariel used? If so, and if I can get the crankshaft, I int...
