Re: Engine breathing

Will keep you posted. That's exactly the bottom end I'm using. With an XT350 piston and pattern short stroke barrel and head.

Engine breathing

Are there any mods or points to bear in mind when building a 500cc short stroke regards letting it breath properly?

I've seen some picture of engines with breathers added to one of the rocker covers.

Thanks

Thanks all, sorted now. Got a gasket today to use as a template, need to check this again and again before I start drilling. Thanks for bearing with me.

Not cheeky at all in fact I use the DraganFly site a lot now, thanks to your heads up.

I couldn't however find the thread size as I need to add an extra stud.

Barrel Studs

I need to add another barrel stud to my engine casing, the engine number is CJ. Can someone please tell me diameter and thread I need to tap to use a standard stud?

Thanks in advance

Thanks John, from the diagram the ones next to the flywheel and between the bearing are the same size, is that correct? I think I have them next to each other next to the flywheel. I'm learning....

Rebuild - Spacer required?

I'm in the process of rebuilding the bottom end of the engine for my new trials bike. Can anyone recommend the best workshop manual for the 350cc singles?

I need to understand whether there is a spacer between the two bearing on the crankshaft drive side.

Thanks
