Re: Leader colours and piston ring gaps

RS used to be based locally to me in this town & I used them several times, but I'll not use them again, nothing wrong with them or their service, its just that they made a big thing about their paint being 'ready to use' basically it means very thin & it goes straight into the gun, fair eno...

Re: My latest project

Well boys & girls, I think that near enough it, done, aren't they 'orrid things to work on, typical old brit having to remove 5 bits to get at one type of thing, but I HAVE enjoyed it, all the more because of the expert help & advice from all you knowledgeable people, so many thanks for that...

Re: My latest project

Wow! NOW you show me!! Thanks for that, & looking at yours, mine don't seem that far out, & due to the 'hardness' of the mat & hard rubber backing, it wouldn't fold along the bends, so I penciled in the lines & whacked them with a 3" bolster & hammer, & it formed the sha...

Re: My latest project

Been looking for some time for something to make a 'liner' for the tank-top-storage area, but nothing seemed suitable, then yesterday whilst trolling around Aldi, I saw a real cheapo floor mat, £6.00 for a 2 metre long piece, & it seemed perfect for the job, a bit stiff so will stay in shape, on...

Re: Any Ideas

Are both cams the same? By that I mean both have keyways, lobes in same position? If so, then for some reason you got 2 cams!! How can you see where the keyway was? Has it been 'welded' & re-machined, if so, it can be ( very carefully ) centre-popped & drilled to take a small pin, & as s...

Re: My latest project

Turned up a pair of spacers & extension bars, cut & folded some 3mm alloy sheet to form a 'backing' bar. Made the external cover, but didn't like it so did a second, this looks a bit better, sprayed it 2-pack silver & PU bonded it together, & bolted it up. Made a logo & stuck it ...

Very impressed, you've done a great job there, did you take a mold from an existing or from scratch??

Re: My latest project

Ha ha, if I told you that i'd have to kill you!! Seriously, its simply an off cut of 18 mm marine ply I had laying around, then there was the Bosch jigsaw, pencil, cardboard & scissors!! Oh yeah, sandpaper, drills, files & 2 days. I think i'll mask it off & spray the top-ring silver just...

Re: My latest project

Searching all over for a genuine rear carrier & finding zilch, I decided to have a bash at cobbling up something as near as, since I disliked the 'bare' area behind the seat, besides, I don't have any rubber bungs to fill the holes!! :D Only info I found were photos on google, so off I set, here...
