I think the rubber that's being mentioned is the air cleaner side of the carb, shouldn't be much vacuum there unless something's blocked...

Re: getaway car
This is the one you want - Nick Mann's Moggy from the 1980's, faster than a Ferrari F40, regular hill-climb winner and street legal!

Re: Scottish Bike Show - some Ariels
That Arrow 200....some nice white/ivory overspray on the front tyre and that cable under the steering head, and nice resprayed front suspension caps?! Also a very snazzy quickly-detachable mirror mounting in the right-hand handlebar end!! On a different note, is that combined throttle twistgrip and ...

Re: Spotted at Shepton
Vincent - I find with autojumbles that you can go a long time without seeing much in the way of Ariels and then suddenly you find lots! Last week-end was easily the most Ariels I've ever seen at Shepton (for some reason there were a lot of people selling complete bikes at this one). Probably won't s...

Re: Spotted at Shepton
And as there's a been some discussion of HT3's here's a new one that was for sale (along with a couple of interesting Italian off-roaders). This was built up 3 years ago as a 'lockdown' project for pre-'65 trials use, but 'battle damage' to the owner (wrecked shoulder falling down a bank on somethin...

Spotted at Shepton
Spotted at the Shepton autojumble last weekend. Genuine HS, 1955 I'd guess. (Apologies for the picture quality, I didn't see that the camera was having a problem with the li...

Re: Noisy VH engine - Roller mains
....it doesn't look like it has been designed to take end thrust, not that there should be much of that. I'm not at all suggesting that a lipped roller should be taking any significant end thrust - there are proper bearings for that - just that they don't seem to mind doing a bit of end-float 'cons...

Re: Arrow Primary Chain case oil
A Forum search reveals recommendations for: - ATF (I see I've decided to use that but I have a note to only use mineral and Dexron equivalent), but it's also been commented that this can be thin enough to get past the contact breaker oil seal and contaminate the points; - straight 20 or straight 30 ...
