Re: square 4 rods
Hi Johnny, I had a look at this a while ago and contacted Thunder Engineering for someone else who was having trouble getting new con rods. I have seen Thunder Engineering advertising on the front of OBM for years! The answer (from June last year) I had is below... I hope this helps Kevin Steve Camp...

Mk 2 Royal Enfield brake conversion
The Royal Enfield 2LS brake I fitted to my Mk2 Sq4 is working well. So It's time to look at making it look prettier.
My son has drawn up and printed a MK2 torque arm. I tried in place and it fits well. I just need to make one out of aluminium, and replace the mild steel items with stainless steel.

Have you tried Thunder engineering for the conrods... They advertise in OBM. https://www.thunderengineering.co.uk/

Re: Fitting a Royal Enfield 2LS brake and wheel, Mk2 Sq4
Kevin How did you deal with the brake-plate steady, and does the Ariel spindle fit without any mods? All very interesting - thanks for posting. SG Simon I had to make a new 17mm wheel spindle to suit the 6203 bearings, plus various spacers. Including one between the bearings in the wheel. I also ha...

Re: Fitting a Royal Enfield 2LS brake and wheel, Mk2 Sq4
That's a nice looking conversion. Please let us know how well the brake works, once it is bedded-in. I have an Enfield Bullet and the 2ls brake works well, but from what I've read on Enfield forums, it seems that there can be some some variability in the performance of these brakes from bike to bik...

Re: Fitting a Royal Enfield 2LS brake and wheel, Mk2 Sq4
That is a good looking solution. is it possible to alter the position of the levers on the brake arms or are they fixed in one position? The brake arms are splined, so it is possible to alter the position. My son has drawn me a new torque arm, which will rotate the brake plate by 20° clockwise. Thi...

Fitting a Royal Enfield 2LS brake and wheel, Mk2 Sq4
I don't trust my original Mk2 Sq4 brake, after it broke up 10 days ago! I looked at a few solutions, the best would have been a club 2LS front brake but these are not going to available until the end of the year at the earliest. Next I dug out an old h**da twin leading shoe wheel, that was purchased...

Re: Full width front hub broken brake plate
Fairly serious safety issue. The twin leading shoe set up is good for track work but doesn't work well backwards. So you don't ride BACKWARDS, but you may have to start from an upslope sometime. Brakes mostly fail when you need them most. When the anchor stay pulls out you generally have the brake ...
