Dynamo refurb.

The dynamo on my Huntmaster restoration proved to be tired and needing attention. After some asking around, I entrusted it to Andrew Guttmann of Priory Magnetos, Macclesfield. Apart from the recommendation I was first of all impressed by his website; articulate, detailed, logical, well stocked with ...

Re: Dynamo restoration.

That's a surprise, Simon. I've had a lot of stuff from Feked in the past and never realised they did so much for dynamos. I've totted up the rough cost of the stuff I think I'd need and it's not far off what I reckon a professional job would cost me. I've been in contact with Andrew and having spoke...

Re: Dynamo restoration.

Thanks for that John. I've had a look at Andrew's website, and it is very impressive. I've made initial contact and wait to see what develops. Thanks for taking the trouble to reply to me. I'll report back on progress as it may be of use to other members.

Dynamo restoration.

Can anybody recommend a good, reliable dynamo restorer please? The last job on my Huntmaster restoration is the dynamo. The bike is running very well but the dynamo (6v) is not charging. I've had a wire across the terminals with a 12v bulb and the output is just enough to get a very weak glow, so no...

Re: Worn ks quadrant

Thanks Mick. I've thought about the problem some more and I think you are right. I found a quadrant on ebay yesterday and have ordered it. I did that as I've had a much closer look at the one I have got!! Comparing it to the photo of the quadrant 3325-31 on the Drags website (no longer available) I ...

Re: Worn ks quadrant

Thanks Roger. I think I'll try turning the quadrant round as a first shot.

Worn ks quadrant

Sorry if this is an old chestnut and the answer might be elsewhere on the Forum. I've looked and can't find it, so forgive me if I have made a mistake. I've finally finished the restoration of my 1957 Huntmaster and have had it running well. The kickstart has become troublesome with jamming and the ...

Re: 1957 Huntmaster Steering lock

Thanks Mick. I had a good poke round for a smaller hole but it's dark up there! I'll have a go with the file.
