John Burton

The long term owner of my Mk 11 Square 4 was John Burton. He was 2 owners ago, according to my Reg Doc, and lived near Heathrow. He sold to the previous owner in 2005. I have tried to find a phone number, but no joy, he may have moved. I would be grateful if any South East members know John and coul...

I dont want my machine to look any different from standard, if at all possible, and due process, to my mind, is to investig...

Re: Full width hub TLS

I am new to Ariels, but can you not adapt the late 60's Triumph/BSA TLS as per this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123919261517 I suppose the back plate wont work with the earlier Ariel/BSA forks? Could it be fettled to fit? I am interested in improving my Sq 4 Mk2 front brake. Which is the single side...

Re: 1948 Iron 4G Coil Ignition

Hi Chris Re starting your Velo....interesting in that I find my Mk 2 4G the easiest of bikes to start (those 250cc cylinders I suppose). I have had a Venom for 2 years, and finally got the Half Nelson on the starting procedure, thanks to local club members. The few old bikes Ive owned definitely don...

Re: Help to work on Sq 4 engine

Thanks Roger. Oh, thats interesting Simon, I was going to say that as it seems to quieten down as it warms up that could also explain a "clearance" situation.... I went for a quick spin (in a gale!) and as I was warming it up I remembered the uneven tick-over. I also feel it a bit too adva...
