Re: '30 Model G - Correct Cam and Followers

Thanks Roger, would be interesting to see the detail on the drawings if you have them. I remember talking to Paul Meredith about them at an AGM a few years ago but the details are hazy. I have an idea it was about the ground radius of the follower pads.

'30 Model G - Correct Cam and Followers

I have what I understand is the correct A6/664 cam for my G. If I remember, it can be distinguished by having two separate lobes. The followers are marked A6/211 but the 1930 parts book lists A6/449 for the Model G. I was told that there is an important difference in profile or other detail between ...

2022 April Stafford Classic Bike Show

The AOMCC are booked to appear at the 23/24 April classic bike show at Stafford Showground. We already have some Stafford regulars to help set up and man the stand for the weekend, but wanted to ask on here if anyone might be interested in getting involved too. Please email me at registrar@arielowne...

Re: Semi-fluid grease - amount and best way to get it in the box?

Thanks for all the good suggestions. I went with the syringe idea in the end and with a tube on the end it meant I could charge straight from the bottle. Got a good 300ml in there with little mess. Quite different from the horror story I was imagining before I asked for tips! Took a ride this mornin...

Semi-fluid grease - amount and best way to get it in the box?

I have some Penrite semi-fluid grease to refill the BA box on my '52 Sq. Does anyone have any tips for getting it into the box? I was thinking of just putting a funnel into the speedo drive opening. I think it might take a while to flow in. Any idea on quantity would be good too. I didn't strip the ...

Re: BA Gearbox mainshaft end-float

I have the Waller book from the AOMCC website now and thanks for the good description. Think I will re-assembl, refill with fresh oil/grease and perhaps look to the clutch/primary if the noise reappears.

BA Gearbox mainshaft end-float

I am investigating an intermittent transmission noise on my Mk1 '52 Sq. The first port of call was to check if the nut on the end of the main shaft. All looks good but I noted the end float is 20thou. Does this seem reasonable? It is a long time since I had the BA box apart but IIRC the output gear ...

Re: New member, '52 VH500

Peter, I haven't had any email from you. I deal with all email extremely promptly but occasionally have to go away with work or holidays. The email address is: registrar@arielownersmcc.com and the phone number is in the club magazine. I would have preferred if you hadn't chosen to voice your dissati...

Re: 1930 Model G rear mudguard

Thanks Adrie, I will go down in the cellar later and study what I have together with your pictures. Main difference I can see at the moment is that you have a rear rack which isn't present on mine.

1930 Model G rear mudguard

Hi All, Fitting up the rear mudguard on my project 1930 G. The guard and rear grab/stay are new but the upright stay is original. Doesn't really seem to gel! Any G experts on here? I have been told that J.Coleman is very experienced with them and present on the forum. Tried to PM him but couldn't fi...
