Hi Simon
Yes, a combo of short runs sorting out issues + the roads where I live have become impossible to get a decent run on. Unfortunately means braving the M3/M4. Higher survival chances on the Somme
I suspect the bores are glazing a little + muck building up in pipes.....

Re: Oil carry over- SQ4
Hi Paul
I suspect the lack of decent runs and short runs hasn't helped. Apparently it's clear here on Saturday morning, so a nice early start and run out to Reading and back (70 miles return). That might be what the doctor ordered

Oil carry over- SQ4
Hi All 3, 000 + miles with a new engine, and most things are working nicely, especially since sorting fuel and ignition issues. Starts easily, plenty of compression, feels quite powerful, etc. But there is one thing I can't get to the bottom of yet.......after a run on A or M roads I get some oil ca...

Re: Breather tube sizing - MK1
Hi Roger
As far as I can tell, using appropriate fittings would allow 15mm tubing. I would be best to drill/tap the entry point to 3/8 BSP.
And yes, it's incredible what effect the Morgo has when steaming along! As big a tube as feasibly possible

Breather tube sizing - MK1
Hi All I'm taking the opportunity to fit a better/larger timing case breather to my MK1. I will seek to use as big a tube diameter as I can get away with as I have a Morgo fitted (as I saw in someone's photo, I will also bring the breather tube over the top of the oil pump, tipping down). My questio...

Replacement MK1 oil feed union to head
Hi All Probably a common issue, but the olive fitting that connects the oil line to the MK1 head adapter fitting is persistently leaking and no manner of tightening seems to help. The fitting is part of the Drags line, but can a replacement fitting be sourced and resoldered to the copper line? Or po...

Re: MK1 - Possible Rear Crank Gear Play
Hi All I have done a first pass of the gear centre nickeling, and fitted to the shaft as test (without key). I have to say the results are really pleasing and I feel I'm on the way to a successful outcome. The gear was markedly more snug than before and required a moderate amount of force to fit. A ...
