Re: FH primary alignment?

:) Thanks for the replies chaps. Yes Simon, I will look into what can be done with the engine sprocket although I don’t recall there being a space behind it on the BSA. I think the engine sprocket has a shoulder on the back of it that gives it the spacing. Of cause I could get that machined down sli...

FH primary alignment?

Hi guys. I’ve fitted a BSA A10 into a 58 Ariel frame. I assumed that this would be an easy enough job as I thought the engine was basically the same in many ways to the FH. Well I’ve already found that it isn’t quite the same as FH engine plates weren’t quite right to pick up the mounting holes in t...

Re: Lack of power

I’m not in any way an expert but I had similar power issues with my ally head NH when it got hot. I have a feeling mine was at least partially caused on the fueling side of things. It seams better after fitting an insulating spacer between carb and head.

Re: 376 monoblock advice.

Yes.. Another good point. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a range of different jets, slides etc I gave Amal a call today and described what I’d tried with needle height etc. The guy I spoke to kindly offered to send me a smaller pilot jet free of charge as he thought it sounded like it wouldn’t be a mai...
