I've thick paper gasket rolls over here...I had that already in mind to use a thick gasket..

Will try your option John, I have to collect a 21T BSA sprocket from a friend of mine next week...will let you all know if it will fit (with or without a small modification to the primary case....)

I'm fairly sure this is not an original colour slide from 1944. Besides the details of the bike itself, as far as I know, de Kodachrome 35mm never had their date printed on them (also, it is very "convinient" that the date is on the slide). Furthermore, the colours are to "modern"...
