Lancs Branch Christmas Meet and Eat - Venue Change
Our last-minute planned meet at Rivington Upper Barn this Sunday (12:00) has had to be changed due to the barn being closed as it is set up for the parties and knees-ups that it is hosting throughout the week. We will instead be at The Crown at Horwich, this prominent Victorian pub is easily found a...

Sidecar Wanted
A friend in Huddersfield who has a plunger BSA A10 is looking for a complete single adult sidecar to attach to it. I have said that I'd put the word out - so...I've done it. If anyone has anything that fits the bill, please let me know and I will put you in touch.

Re: Rear footrest pedal
I always had it that the early W/NG's were supplied with ordinary rubber footrests front and rear but the spec was changed to all steel ones after Singapore fell and rubber supplies became increasingly difficult. On visits to REME workshops for overhaul/repair etc, the rubber footrests of the earlie...

Re: Olive drab...
Has anyone ever done a W/NG in the Malta "dry stone wall" finish? Incidentally, mine is in what is supposed to be NATO matt green (obtained from a local firm which buys, does up and sells ex-WD Land Rovers) - which I believe has some chemical component which is supposed to make it invisibl...

Re: Loss of Oil - alternative method....
An old friend - no longer in the club or with bike - was riding down Barton Street, a Roman road in Lincolnshire, on his W/NG when he felt something hit his left leg. Stopping, he realised that the dynamo had fallen off. Returning to where he'd felt it leave the bike, he scoured the verge and surrou...

Re: handlebars
When I was restoring mine I needed handlebars and was directed to club member Jurgen Anderson in Denmark who had some original factory spares ones still in the Ariel wrappings and I bought a pair off him. Is he still around? If he is, an email may be worthwhile.

Loss of Oil - alternative method....
Elsewhere, I have noted that my '41 W/NG had to deputise for my NH on the Annual rally this year thanks to a last-minute problem with the '57 bike. The W/NG had been laid up in the back of the garage waiting for a re-bore and general freshen up at the time, but rose to the occcasion and carted Louis...

Kung Po NH, bean shoots and crispy noodles please.
My NH in it's latest incarnation, posed in Chorley, Lancs. (No, I'm not doing deliveries). I bought the NH in field bike mode with most "unimportant" bits missing, and put it together in normal claret NH mode in a non-mains connected lock-up on a tight budget shortly after we moved to Lanc...

Tiny W/NG, Big Pillion Rider or summat else?
I took the following picture on Douglas Head during this year's Annual. Anyone who knows my wife Louise will know that she's a whole 5' 0" tall and 7 stone dry, so how come my 1941 W/NG seems to have shrunk? The W/NG was in the back of the shed awaiting an engine overhaul when it was called upo...
