Re: Pressed front number plates.

I have two fairly original machines with the aluminium surround and curved pressed plates and both have very small slotted screws with nuts. One bike has two towards the outside edges, the other bike has three with one screw roughly in the centre to avoid the raised sections. The screws may have bee...

Re: Find bike registration details from a frame number

Dennis, if you apply for an age related registration number be prepared to have your application rejected if the VIN frame number is already on the system. If that happens you will need to make an another application to obtain a V5c in your name based on the previous one being lost or destroyed. It ...

Re: regulator cover

I understand that Vincent. It looks like you made 60 pieces and sent them to Peter, maybe they have all been sold? If they have all been taken, there is clearly a demand and there are now more potential customers so is this a project the club should look at taking on to offer in future? We probably ...

Re: regulator cover

Have you tried Allan the Singles spares person, he found one for me after Vincent advised that he made a decent batch and sent them to the previous spares organiser. I think they were still packed away and I don’t know how many he found.

Re: DVLA registration request very slow

After considerable backwards and forwards with DVLA I have now received a letter advising that they will not be issuing an age related registration number for my bike. The current document shows date of manufacture as 1950, as does the dating certificate from the club. The machine currently has a le...

Re: WD 40 Type Liquids

Hi Mick, I can suggest a product called Action Can AC-90, it’s available in a 5 litre can as well as smaller aerosols and you get a trigger spray bottle included with the 5 litre pack usually. I just found it on-line at £33.88. It was made by guys who originally worked for the company offering WD-40...

Re: Any clue?

Hi Paul, I have a similar mark but an R which I hoped was for “racing” but it’s not very likely. I expect it’s just a factory inspection mark unless anyone has another suggestion?

Re: NG350 1946 4sale by 'We sell classic bikes'

That exhaust looks like it got very hot, timing or weak mixture? I wonder how it idles as the adjustment screw is missing from the carb body? Comparing with my slightly later rigid framed bike, the lower rear chain guard is at a completely different angle, were they like this earlier?
Thanks, Paul

Re: Wanted CP speedo drive gear

Johnny, I keep checking eBay but have only seen one speedo gear offered, it was the wrong one! I have seen a few gearboxes of the correct type and asked sellers if a gear is in place, generally they have not been prepared to check, despite it being fairly simple to see if one is present. I’ll keep l...
