Hi Adrian, Here is a picture of my old 34 G14 may be helpful for reference , very original, every engine bolt had the piled arms on the end. I got Avery good workshop manual from someone on the internet, will try and see if I have any record of it any where? I gave it to the new owner in the Czech R...

On the panel just above the trouble light should be a knob with two flats on with stop written on turn that through 90 degrees and it earths the mag. , perhaps put a picture of your tank panel to make easier, yours may be different or missing.

Firstly if your bike is a 1956 mk2 it should be fitted with an SU carburettor not Solex as SU were fitted from 54 on. You can purchase a rebuild kit for the SU from Burlen fuel systems Ltd in Salisbury. I would retorque the heads not forgetting to reset the tappets.
