wanted '31 heavyweight forks

Hello all

looking for a set of forks for a '31 cammy

The best I can offer in exchange is a set of '27 forks and/or a set of '32 lightweight forks.

Not holding by breath

Cheers

last road sprint on public road in England

The last sprint held on a public road in the uk ( or perhaps just England?) was held 'just outside Hereford' on
4th April 1925. I've been trying to find out exactly where on the Internet but with no luck so far.
Would anybody happen to know the answer to this one?

Cheers

Re: Banbury Run 2013

I was supposed to be doing 20 mph for 56 miles which was an elapsed time of 2 hours and 48 mins. I'd been lucky in starting no 7 out of 600 as the veteran goes well, but you need a clear road at junctions and hills with no gearbox or clutch. I had geared the bike down by shortening the belt and narr...

Re: What lubrication for my Sturmey Archer gear box?

Miller Oils do a semi fluid grease too, I seem to remember it is a little less expensive than Castrol Spheerol.
I Fill my Sturmey box up to the plug. It then spits out what it doesn't need and seems to stay at much the same level thereafter.

Re: Long Mynd by Ariel

it was a great weekend that one. yes, it's a 1930 model B and sports sidecar. That sidevalve engine is great for chair pulling with the lower ratio sprocket. Not the fastest on main roads though. I really like the 3 speed Sturmey gearbox; cant think why Ariel didn't use them on all models at that ti...

Best roads in Britain! what a great run round from John O Groats. I reckon your VB will be perfect.

Re: top prices or what

Interesting thread this. I recently got a large lump of cash back from my building society on a ppi claim post divorce and selling the house a few years back I've been looking for a mid vintage sporting bike for ages and have discovered that even the dealers are struggling to find bikes now. The sup...

Re: Black Ariel sump oil

Hi Brenton I had similar problems getting my 1912 W&P Ariel to oil properly. I had to make up a ball bearing breather to get the engine to suck oil in. it now likes 20 drops per minute or a little less if going gently. I'm always slightly surprised how little dirty oil comes out when draining th...

Re: Pioneer Run 2013

That's a real shame! I hope to make it next year, work permitting. The bike was 100 last year and I was stuck offshore.
Is there any news of running it later in the year Paul?

See you at Banbury at least.

Cheers
