Hi Jeffl The standard lock nut is 9/16 " diam.26 tpi 0.709" across flats,0.100" wide,Its a bsb standard brass rate nut.Hoping this helps flatland Roger

Hi John,For once I will half agree with Roger,After running these engines for 30 years I have settled for running the first 500 hundred on mineral oil to get the rings to bed in,The next 500 hundred on semi synthetic ,Then fully synthetic at 32 to one from then on ,Yes its £5 a litre extra on minera...

HI Roy,Roger G is half right,A standard 5/16 unc bolt is used,but the first 1/2 inch of the bolt is turned down to 1/4 inch with a 1/4 unc thread making it a shouldered bolt to stop you punching a hole through the end covers,Roger Lee and out

Hi Will,Not much of a problem,If you have John Ellis little book of spot the difference no. 13 it gives a good picture of them fitted,The way I remove them is with a 10 inch screw driver with a small slot ground in the blade,Position the blade between the brake shoe and the hook end of the spring,Pu...

Hi Pete,Yes its a mine field,there were four different lengths for the Leaders and Arrows,Early type pre A frame 3t 6inch Leader and 3ft 9inch Arrow, 1959 to 1960.Then A frame type 3ft 8 inch Leader 4ft Arrow 1961 to 1965.So yours will be a T1164 romac no TS 799 .I make mine 3ft 8 1/2 inchs just to ...
