Re: Odd Looking Cam Followers.

Thank you all once again for your replies, following the excellent advice on here I have decided to bite the bullet and abandon the set of followers that I have and to buy a new set from Drags.

They arrived yesterday

Thank you all once again.

Re: Odd Looking Cam Followers.

Hello again, and once again thank you all for your replies. I have been through all the old followers that I have, and really there are only about three out of the three sets that I have that could really be regarded as usable, so today I have finally bitten the bullet and ordered a new set of follo...

Re: Odd Looking Cam Followers.

Thank you both for your replies, I did wonder about the hardening myself, but I have tested them all with a file and it just skids off the end face so I assume that they have been hardened. So really I have to decide, do I try and face these off, and then check to see of they are still hard and that...

Odd Looking Cam Followers.

Please could I ask if anyone has ever come across any cam followers like these. Back in the nineteen eighties I bought a derelict 1951 Mark One with a blown engine, and with it came several boxes of assorted spares. These followers were in one of the boxes. Apart from a few minor marks from hanging ...

Re: Club Rod Big End Bolts

After putting this post on here I did indeed contact Bennet Longman about this, and within a couple of hours I received a comprehensive reply. To quote from his reply "The torque figures that are quoted are to achieve the stretch specified. However, there is some inaccuracy in the torque method...

Club Rod Big End Bolts

I am just about to fit a set of the latest batch of club rods to a mark two engine that I am building. When I was going through the recommended five times tightening and loosening procedure before installation I noticed that when the bolts were fully tightened to the recommended torque of 26 ft/lbs ...

Re: Mk2 Roller Main Bearings

Hello Alan, and thank you for your reply, and I hope it was all right for me to mention your name in my initial post The bearings that I got from Draganfly did at least come in proper printed boxes and the bearing itself was wrapped in plastic and has Sterling and CFL9 etched into the outer track. S...

Mk2 Roller Main Bearings

I have seen this question asked before on this forum, but if there has ever been a definite answer I’m afraid that I must have missed it so please could I ask again. What drive side roller main bearings are you all using in your square four engines, and where are you getting them from? Simply Bearin...

Re: Stolen Frame?

Thank you all so much for your replies. I mistakenly thought that there was a data base somewhere that could be accessed by the DVLA, and large motorcycle club admins, such as the AOMCC or the VMCC for the purpose of helping to track down and recover members stolen machines. Obviously I was wrong ab...

Stolen Frame?

Is there anyway that I can find out if a second hand frame that I have recently purchased has come from a stolen machine. I bought the frame to enable me to reassemble a VB that I bought back in the nineteen eighties from a man who decided to make a "Chopper" out of it. People did things l...
