Simple swap of the primary coil wires and it rotates the other way.... and works !!
Just got the soild state regulator to fit, slip in an in-line fuse, job done.
Just need to get over my ocd that the dynamo goes in the oposite direction to the arrow on the casing !! ...that's tough that one...

Dynamo rotations - they can be different !!
Well I learned something today, tracking down why my dynamo wasn't charging - it may have never done since I had it refurbed but I've never ridden in the dark and never really cared all that much... Anyway, I ran tests on the bike as per John Nash articles back from 2011 (they never go out of date.....

There's no other detail on the advert, am surmising the 1.25 is a measurement though, not sure.

New gear fitted, not quite perfect, the slip ring didn't fit into the recess so I had to widen the aperture a bit, but all seems to be working now OK New gear.jpg Checked for sparks, done points etc. all ready to go back on - not checked the dynamo though, was thinking I'll do that when it's oin the...

Lucas MSL1 Magneto cam ring wanted
Anyone have the above part or a dead MSL1 or the end section... also need the points cover and possibly the cable if different to an MS01

Thanks Paul, I've ordered a new fibre gear for the MO1 - seemed like the quickest / easiest / cheapest option (£16 from India), but will look out for the cam ring etc. for the MSL1 - it kind of feels like a better / more solid way of working than the 'face' lift system anyway so will probably end up...

Found a broken G4M for not a lot of money, visually looks similar setup - anyone know if the cam ring is the same? Doesn't seem to have an advance on it... ;
