Re: Battery to suit Alton generator

Cheers Simon,
I’d had a go at editing and re-saving, but obviously not correctly. I’ll ask a grandson to show me how!

Cheers Ken,
Do you know the capacity or the part number for the Varta?

Battery to suit Alton generator

‘Morning team! I’m in the process of fitting a BT-H mag and Alton generator to my VH project. IMG_8784.jpeg What battery options have people chosen? Between 8 and 14Ah is the recommended capacity. Has anyone relocated an AGM battery under the seat or found one that’s physically small enough to fit i...

Re: Oil Pipes - 1954 VH

Thanks everyone for the input. I’ve heated the oil tank return pipe with a small blow torch and used a deep socket to get enough leverage to straighten it up. IMG_8773.jpeg The tee-piece is on its way from Draganfly and the up-and-over direction looks good for the rocker feed. I’ll solder up a new r...

Oil Pipes - 1954 VH

‘Evening chaps. I’m currently trying to recommission a recently aquired 1954 VH and would appreciate some guidance. Among other things, I’d like to replace the lashed-up oil pipes. IMG_8758.jpeg IMG_8756.jpeg I’ve bought new feed and return pipes but they don’t line up very well with the unthreaded ...

Re: Wanted- Rocker feed pipe - Ali head VH

Hi Roger,
Thanks very much for the input. I’ve printed a copy of the whole issue 14 Drags catalogue. (At work. After hours) It’s been invaluable over the years.
Does the rubber tee-piece fit between the main oil return pipe and the unthreaded oil tank return stub?

Thanks again,
Mark

Wanted- Rocker feed pipe - Ali head VH

Hi, I’m after the rigid feed pipe that fits between the rocker spindles for my ‘54 Ali-head VH. It’s the bit with 2 banjos soldered to a Tee piece. I’d also like to know how it connects to the return oil pipework. Is there supposed to be a rubber Tee-piece that splices into the circuit? Ta, MarkCros...

Re: VH exhaust fitting

Thanks for your help chaps. Sorry though, I think my last photo was misleading. Both ex pipes are quite a close fit over the cylinder head stub. I left the pipe partially withdrawn to show the stub, rather than the later style heads with the ‘into head’ fitment. Both headers are pretty close, but wa...
