Do you still have that bike? It was an interesting experience to try it for size in Stirling.
It was high and long, and when stalled, it was necessary to put it on the stand to restart it.
Except for Bennet. His legs were long enough.

With a little luck, you might be able to find the original frame number.
Polish the place, where it should have been, with emery and put a few drops of acid on that place. That might make it readable, unless the new number is stamped on the same place.

How much heat can the seals stand? Many years ago I tried to use valve seals from a Morris/Austin engine in my cast iron Sq4. After very few miles I opened the lid over the valves, and all the seals were destroyed by heat. Luckily I was able to pick them all out before they went into the oillines. S...

When was it made compulsory to have brake lights on motorcycles in UK? And cars too.
In Denmark it came in 1956 unless for bikes below 120 kg.
