Re: ariel ht 5 trouble
Bonjour Nicholas A morgo pump is good on a MkII square four as the original pumping system was unrelaible, the piston pump fitted to singles was fine so I do not understand why people fit a morgo to a single. John Bradshaw has also had problems with a morgo on a single, I recommend to return to the ...

Re: rear mudguard
No there is no 'spacer' but there is a 'space', you need three nuts on each bolt, the first nut clamps up the top of the shock absorber then two nuts either side of the mudguard bridge bracket, the bolt should be long enough to do this, if not then you are possibly using the lower shock absorber bol...

I think that they were made by Nikolaus Mueller Seidel in South Germany, he does not make Ariel parts generally any more but drop him an email and he may be able to help out, email me direct if you want his details.

Re: Improving the front forks
Hi Vincent If you recall a couple of years ago I sent you a singles sump plate which actually took about six months to arrive, perhaps the same has happened to your fork springs so just wait another five months and they should arrive..this time free of charge. I do recommend that you have words with...

Re: flange
Vincent is correct, this is for the colonial air filter which is about a foot (0.3m) long and about 6 inches (0.15m) in diameter, it fits down the side of the machine..and I have one at home, or at least a replica one which I think was made by John Bradshaw (yes him again!). I also have the fitting ...

Re: Wheel Bearings
Drags sell these as sealed bearing so you no longer have to worry about putting the grease in...oh, and they are cheap as chips!

I just use post office red and so far there has been no complaint from the 'originality police'...it is not like deep claret which has been given various interpretations.

Re: Single Cylinder Crankcases
Tony The fifth cylinder base hole on the VB cases is not a base stud hole but rather a tappet chest oil drain so it does not have a thread tapped in it...in which case if you want to seal it with a bit of stud ..then you will first have to tap the thread! I did once convert a VB crank case to a 5 st...
