Re: Decided to sell my 1956 Mk2....
Good spot! It's actually from an S8 that I bought as a project but now know that I won't get around to it so it's on eBay at the moment. The silencer was a perfect push-fit into the crazy copper pipe that came with one of the engines so I used it for the test run. I restored the engine with the idea...

Re: Decided to sell my 1956 Mk2....
Room is a problem! I have to walk around the SQ4, an S8, a T150 and a C15 - three old projects - to get to the A50CC that is supposed to be the current project. Trouble is I've developed a liking for restoring old Stuart Turner boat engines too....
Not bored at least!

Re: Decided to sell my 1956 Mk2....
Hi Simon, Mineral 10-30 for running in, plan was to then swap to synthetic after replacing the after-market filter cartridge. I will be sad to see it go and have anguished somewhat over the decision but it's such a beast and to be honest I feel much happier nipping along on my recently finished B40 ...

Decided to sell my 1956 Mk2....
I brought it back in bits from the USA a few years ago and spent a long time restoring it. SInce then I've covered maybe 200 miles on it but it hasn't been ridden for the past year. Emotionally I have a lot invested and don't want to sell it but there's no point in it just sitting there gathering du...

Re: Double adult sidecar
Many thanks for all your thoughts and replies. I see the Busmar on ebay is relisted so pondering that.... I have a small Briggs single seater - sort of 'Snoopy' profile - on an M21 which is great for self, wife and pooch. I rather like the lines of the Dolphin so maybe wait to see if one comes up. I...

Double adult sidecar
I'm looking for a sidecar - or project - that can take two adults to for onto my SQ4.
Also interested in any thoughts as to what the most suitable models might be?
Would like to keep to the period if possible but ability to transport four adults is the main object.
Thanks,
Bernie

Re: SQ4 Mk2 starting issues
Hi Dennis, Very interesting to read about another option for switching our 4's to EI ! I think that your method of determining the firing point would also work for other brands of units to set the initial point for static timing which would be very useful. Am I right in thinking that the 15 degree A...

Re: SQ4 Mk2 starting issues
Gui - that's exactly what I've done. It's possible to remove the cap without disturbing the front pipe and I've just used typing correction fluid to make white base marks on both the crank bolt and the casing and then ink-marked radial lines for TDC and fully advanced using the standard rod-in-plug'...

Re: SQ4 Mk2 starting issues
Thanks both - Powerspark sounds good. I like that plastic film - clever stuff, will likely order some - £2.45 for a small piece seems good. I'm going to take some pics of my timing marks and post to see if others think this is a decent way of strobe timing. Seemed a simple solution to me although pe...
