Re: 'E10' fuel

specialistdents.co.uk based in Middleton near Pickering is well worth contacting. They removed some dents and chemically cleaned the inside of an Ariel tank for me. It was okay with a pressure test so I didn't opt to have sealer applied. I was impressed by the service provided including the turn aro...

Re: Small end bush interference

Unable to vouch for the quality but Tracy Tools are showing adjustable reamers at £12.00 (not sure if this includes VAT)

I have purchased from them in the past and not been disappointed and also found their service and delivery time to be excellent.

Re: Small end bush interference

Sounds as though you need to get hold of an adjustable reamer to finally finish the bush. Tracy Tools may be able to supply one unless you are able to borrow one local to yourself. The bore is a bit small and hence fiddly to try and hand scrape it to size.

Re: crankshaft end float

One way to retain main bearings against moving towards the flywheels and also rotating in the crankcase is to drill and tap the crankcase and use a countersunk headed screw which fits into the drilled countersink in the crankcase and into a suitable notch ground freehand into the periphery of the ou...

Re: Small end bush interference

I don't think the issue of "springing" is really a problem and your measurement of the old bush at 3 thou' oversize agrees with what I said in my previous post regarding the size I reduced mine to. You could make a longer mounting spigot / mandrel to mount in the lathe with a threaded end ...

Re: Small end bush interference

Hello Danny, With regard to my previous post in December 2013, I settled on an interference fit of 2-1/2 to 3 thou and felt I achieved a good result. The bushes for the long stroke BSA A7 (incidentally also from Draganfly) appeared to be of a reasonable grade of phosphor bronze. It is important to m...

The pie and pint look appetizing but the bike looks delicious and you haven't had to use the serviette under the bike!!

Re: Burgess air filtering.

In the picture the filter portion has been fitted the wrong way round I believe.
The brown metal part referred to should be at the top with the gauze section adjacent to the rectangular windows.

Hope this helps:

Re: ignition timing

Keith, You could try this website

http://www.torqsoft.net/piston-position.html

As in any calculation you will require the length of the con rod between centres.
