Dear fellow enthusiasts,
I am curious how to distinguish an original Altette horn from a replica. Are there any markings different on original horns?
Thanks

Interesting Ariel in Hyderabad, India
Dear fellow enthusiasts,
I recently visited Hyderabad, India. Here was a lineup of British bikes as static display at a wedding party. People here often display curious items at parties. The Ariel paint scheme looks appropriate for a party!

Petrol shelf life
Dear fellow enthusiasts, I hope riding season is to a good start. We are still waiting for some warm weather here in Minnesota. I am curious about shelf life of petrol left in motorcycle tanks. It is common wisdom that petrol left in tanks is going to lose volatile components. I am curious if any of...

Re: For sale. 250 sloper
Dear fellow enthusiasts, I don’t intend to offend anyone but this most likely is a scam. The photos of same bike were uploaded on another website in December 2012. If you look carefully at Ebay listing, the first two photos have copyright information inscribed in faint font (devo4kaskerco). When you...

Re: AUCTION : Bonhams auction at the Stafford Show on October 15/16th
Interesting selection of machines. I in fact just posted this question in the general forum: Dear fellow enthusiasts, This is a general question and not specific to Ariels. I am curious if you had an experience with Bonhams auctions. I am thinking of bidding on a couple of motorcycles. I want to kno...

Question about Bonhams auctions
Dear fellow enthusiasts, This is a general question and not specific to Ariels. I am curious if you had an experience with Bonhams auctions. I am thinking of bidding on a couple of motorcycles. I want to know how the final pricing works. If the highest bid is let’s say 100 pounds, how much additiona...

Chemistry lesson - petrol and some plastics do not go well
Dear fellow enthusiasts, A reminder that not all plastics can handle petrol. I was using this measuring container from kitchen to prepare a 2T mix for my Scott. I left the petrol in the container overnight and the results were obvious. Petrol just went through the plastic container. The Scott ran fi...

Square Fours - how many remain?
Dear fellow enthusiasts, I am quite amused to learn how Square Fours keep popping up here in USA. I called two gentlemen in recent days to enquire about other machines. During conversation, both gents said, "by the way I also have a Square Four." It seems many of these are used as display ...

Re: Rigid 350 for sale
Dear Tony and fellow enthusiasts, Attached are photos of my 1951 NH and 1945 Triumph 3HW (also imported from India) and 1950 Norton Big 4 (imported from Egypt). This probably is not the correct forum but it would be interesting to see photos of Ariels and other British bikes re-imported from India a...
