Re: 1930 Model B Running Problem

Re: 1930 Model B Running Problem
So, I have concluded the investigate by returning to the scene of the crime - I readjusted the valve lifter - hesitation gone. Just need to put the carburation back to where it was. Thanks to all that tried to help.

Re: KH 500 Petrol in the inlet rubber
Petrol won't leak out unless the engine is stopped. The inlet runs under vacuum so will suck air in. Not a good idea.

Re: 1930 Model B Running Problem

Re: Black Ariel identification?
Post some pics Ray - the 28 had a lot of unique parts, some photos would help identify parts which might be tricky to source.
But a Model B will be a wonderful thing.

Re: 1930 Model B Running Problem
If its slide wear then its come on quickly - its been running perfectly fine for years. And then it wasn't. I'll have a look. I guess I could try a different slide and see if that changes how it runs.

1930 Model B Running Problem
I have a persistent problem with my 1930 sidevalve Ariel. At 40-45 on a constant throttle I can feel it hesitating, then freeing, then hesitating. Its been doing this for about a year now and was still doing it today all be it it seems to be when the bike gets hot, not when its cold. It'll accelerat...
