Re: Pushrod Material
I would probably go for stainless tubing, however 316 stainless has a thermal expansion 30% greater than mild steel so I would add a couple of thou to the tappets. The original chromoly tubing in my VH was 1/32" (.031") wall thickness which is about 21g. The nearest I found to this was 41...

Pushrod Material
I've been looking for some tubing to make a VH pushrod. The original tube was 7/16" OD and 20 thou wall thickness. I can get:- 1. mild steel seamless tube 7/16" OD, 2mm wall (80 thou) - so likely heavier than the original, but does that really matter in a road engine? or 2. Stainless tube ...

Re: Wanted - Pushrod for 52 VH

Re: Wanted - Pushrod for 52 VH
Last check to see if anyone has a spare pushrod before I buy some steel. 11 7/16" length (to inside of the cup) is what I'm looking for.
Alternatively - a quick question - mild steel for a push rod? Or could I use stainless (which seems easier to find in the right size...)?

1928 Tank Template
Is there anywhere a template for the 1928 petrol tank paint? I've looked on the Danish website but they don't have one.
And anyone advise on the pinstripe colours? I was planning to match the blue to the transfer (Its a Model D), but the gold/yellow? Any thoughts?

Re: 1920 Ariel
Cleaned up the carb for my 1920 Ariel today. Think its come up quite nice. Its a Brown and Barlow needleless carb with air and fuel slides. It has one jet - shown by the carb.
