I tried 3 tachs that run off the ignition wire and not one read anything close to the actual rpm on my 53 VHA, VF31 or my 36 ES2..Idle would be close as it reads about 700 rpm ,once underway forget it.
I even wired it up to my 77 Suzuki GT 750 and it was also way off.
Conclusion..waste of money.

Wade I use 3 Bond used for sealing 2 stroke cases.
Any Motorcycle dealer in Canada should carry it or order it.

I never had a problem on my VHA but I did on my 31 VF. Same issue a tight spot then a very loose spot. New sprockets & chain ordered , installed and the same ! Upon further investigation I came to realize the mag when pulled back was slightly crooked. I now make sure the mag is even with the pla...

I had my original rear brake cable on my 53 VHA for many years and still do but I replaced it with a new one as the sheathing was falling apart.
