Huntmaster crankshaft oil pipe disaster! HELP!
Does anyone know the real reason why BSA and thereby Ariel fitted an oil delivery pipe up the centre of the big end journal axis on Huntmasters? I have my own theory, which I won't bore you with, and I have heard another theory, but if anyone actually knows please enlighten me. I did not know it exi...

Wanted - FH oil delivery pipe big bearing crankshaft
Hi guys. I'm after the pipe that goes up the middle of the big end journals of an FH or A10 big bearing crank. It's suaged out at the timing side end for interference fit inside the crankshaft, and on the drive side the sludge trap plug has a nose on it to locate and seal the other open end of the p...

Wheel bearings for full width Ariel hubs
WHEEL BEARINGS (LJ1 / LS10 / RLS8) 2.25"OD x 1"ID x 5/8" I needed a pair of ball bearings for each of the full width hub wheels of my Huntmaster which I am rebuilding at the moment. Whilst I have no experience with the cheap Chinese or Indian manufactured items so prevalent on eBay, I...

Have you asked Lester Grant? A few weeks ago he had some left from the last batch he had made.

4G Mk2 1955 Birmingham UK
Anyone fancy a 1955 Mk2? Not mint, but pretty tidy. Looks original too. Deep claret. An amount of restoration work was done by Graham Horne in 2010. It's not mine. I've been contacted by the widow of the former owner. email me only if you are serious. arieldave@hotmail.co.uk

Re: new(ish) member with KH project
Hi Jerry. Have you thought about leaving it as it is? Originality isn't everything! The KH is a lovely bike. They were very out of favour in the 1970's and 1980's but a lot came out of the woodwork in the late 80's and 90's and they now get the respect they always deserved. You may consider yourself...

Re: Armstrong shocks
It is possible to refurb Armstrong units. I have no experience but 'Big Jim' Hunter (Canada) did it and wrote about it on the old Forum and in Cheval quite a while ago. (He's been dead quite a while). A lot of people buy NJB shocks. I believe 1/3rd the price of Hagon's. And then there are Australian...

Adrie, I forgot to reply. Sorry!
I picked up a front hub at the AGM autojumble, old and greasy, but beautiful when it cleaned up.
One of these days I'll make it to the Dutch rally...
Cheers
Dave

Hi Markus.
Good to see you riding that KH again. You've been much more on the others in recent times!

Tyre choice?
An opinion if you can offer it please. I am in a right tiz. I need a new front tyre for the VB which might be going on a long journey soon! The size is 3.25 x 19 (or 90/90 x 19). I'd prefer something British if possible. When I bought the VB in 1993 it had a Metzeler ME33 Lasertec front tyre. I like...
